JoinFamily Wedding Site, Wedding Idea and Wedding Gift

JoinFamily Wedding Site, Wedding Idea and Wedding Gift
Are you looking for a new wedding idea?  How about the perfect icebreaker at your wedding reception and a lasting wedding gift to share with your guests and family?

Creating and showing your family tree at your wedding is the perfect way to celebrate the union of your two families.  Also, weddings are like family reunions because many of the guests are relatives.  At family reunions, attendees refer to the family tree to see how they are related to the people they are talking to.  Our new service will bring your family closer together and enable your relatives to:
  • Connect and share family history.
  • Have fun.
  • See your photos and social-network on your wedding site long after the wedding is over.

Bring your wedding into the 21st century and make it an unforgettable event.

Here is how it works:

Before your wedding, designate a friend/relative, photographer or wedding hall (hereinafter referred to as contractor) to create the family tree.  You provide your photos to this contractor to start your wedding site.  (This will serve as the starting point for your family tree.)

Optionally, you may also decide to provide photos of your parents, grandparents, siblings, etc.

If you have photos that are not in digital format, they can easily be scanned and transferred over by your contractor.

At the reception, the contractor has his PC, camera and projector set-up at a table.  The contractor will take photos of your family members, add them to your family tree and project it onto the wall.  The service is completely customizable to suit your preference.  Here are a few possible options:

Option 1 (recommended)

When guests arrive at the receiving line, designated member(s) of the bridal party suggest to relatives of the bride and groom that they visit the contractor's table and be added to the family tree.  During speeches, the M/C will announce the showing of the family tree.  This would be done as part of a special segment that honours all their ancestors (parents, grandparents, great grandparent, etc).  The family tree, showing all the ancestors, is then projected on a wall or screen to all the guests.  The M/C would then announce that the Bride and Groom request that any family members who have not been added to the family tree, get added at the contractor's table at any time after the speeches.

Option 2

During speeches, the M/C will announce the showing of the family tree.  This would be done as part of a special segment that honours all their ancestors (parents, grandparents, great grandparent, etc).  The family tree, showing all the ancestors, is then projected on a wall or screen to all the guests.  The M/C would then announce that the Bride and Groom request that family members get added to their family tree by visiting the contractor's table at any time after the speeches.

Common to all options:

  • Everyone has the opportunity to view the family tree on the projector.

  • Relatives who could not attend, can be added to the wedding site, during or after wedding.

  • Seeing the relationships between family members brings family closer together.  (One of the families on JoinFamily printed and posted their family tree of 300+ people at their reunion.  Doing so has brought the family much closer together and allowed them to stay in touch long after the reunion ended.)

  • Many wedding couples send cards with a small photo of themselves to the attendees after the wedding is over.  Instead, or in addition, you will be able to send your wedding site as a wedding gift or memorabilia.  Any user can upload albums of photos.  Therefore, you can upload photos of your honeymoon for your relatives to see and share.  Relatives can post comments on JoinFamily.

JoinFamily wedding site is the perfect wedding idea to make your wedding unforgettable.

Using JoinFamily is free.  If you have a helping relative or friend who can take the role as the contractor (provide and operate a PC with internet access, projector and camera), he/she can possibly do this for you for free.

If not, you can hire your photographer or wedding hall as the contractor to do this.  You can contact us for referrals of photographers and wedding halls.

Lastly, you can hire JoinFamily to do this if we have operations set up in your city.  Contact us to find out.
